The Neck Sling

The Neck Sling Operation – Giving A More Angular Look Between The Jaw and Chin Skin and The Neck. A Minimally Invasive Approach.

One of the biggest concerns of many patients getting a sharper more defined angle between the relatively horizontal jaw and the vertical neck. Face and Neck Lifts have been the traditional approach to achieving this, but is a much more aggressive approach and can lead to a more unnatural “plastic surgery” look.
The Neck Sling operation, as further developed and advanced by Dr Peter Cheski, can achieve a sharper Jaw/Neck Angle with only a minimally invasive approach. The entire procedure is done through two or three hidden incisions that are even smaller than the incisions made for liposuction. The main incisions are hidden behind the ear, and thus are mostly hidden.
Special suture techniques using designed instrumentation is then used to run sutures on the undersurface of the skin from the angle of the jaw on one side to the angle of the jaw on the other. This pulls the skin at the Jaw/Neck angle back, giving a more defined Jaw/Neck angle and can tighten the skin of the neck and the skin in the double chin area. The procedure takes only about 30 minutes, can be done under local or sedation anesthesia, and has minimal recovery.
The procedure can be done in combination with other techniques such as liposuction, radiofrequency liposuction, Thermage, Submentoplasty, Fat Transfer, and Stem Cell Facelift.

The Stem Cell Facelift

The Stem Cell Facelift – An Evolution in Face and Hand Rejuvenation

As we age, certain areas, like our face and hands, are programmed to lose volume and fat cells. In other areas, such as our abdomen, hips, and thighs, we are programmed to gain volume. If you look at a photo of your face at 18 years of age, I am sure you will see fuller cheeks, temples, and hands. A photo of yourself when you were an infant would most likely have had an even rounder, fuller, chubbier face.

This volume loss in the face causes changes where the cheeks droop and look more hollow, a line to form between our lower eye and our cheek (the tear trough deformity), and the line between our cheeks and upper lip running from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth (the nasolabial line) to become more pronounced. Fat volume loss also causes the lips to become thinner and smoker’s lines to appear around the mouth, even if one does not smoke. Jowls and marionette lines become more exaggerated.

A new technique, using adult stem cells from the body's own fat tissues, has been found to rejuvenate the face by restoring the plumpness, smoothness, and skin tightness for a more youthful face. The so-called “Stem-Cell Facelift” also evens out age- or sun-induced facial color differences.

A “Stem Cell Facelift” is a technique in which the hidden genetic potential of adult stem cells is stimulated. Fat cells are actually stem cells from one’s own body. Human fat has been shown to be an excellent source of adult stem cells. By transplanting carefully harvested autologous (your own) fat, we eliminate the chance for rejection and potential of an allergic reaction.

Adult stem cells create biochemicals that improve the quality of both the surface skin and deeper facial tissues. This results in a significant, long-term "erasure" of the effects of aging in the face. Stem Cells are also known to be a source for producing other “hormone-like” substances to enhance both skin quality and the underlying subcutaneous fatty tissues of the cheeks, the mid-face, and the skin in general. The result is a long-term marked improvement that enhances both skin quality as well as the underlying youthful contours of the face.

The fat cells we use are from areas of the body that tend to accumulate fat over time, like the abdomen, can be transferred to new areas, like the hands, where they can grow and replicate, replacing cells in areas that are genetically programmed to decrease.

These injections can also improve the hollowness of the hands and minimize the appearance of veins or a bony hand. It may also remove the need for repetitive facial "filler" injections.

Those undergoing this procedure recover in about a week, during which time the face is slightly swollen and pink in appearance. This Stem Cell Rejuvenation procedure can cost $3,000 to $8,500 depending on how much is done and where – which is significantly less than the traditional surgical facelift procedure. Often, we will combine it with other procedures such as a face, neck, cheek, eye, and/or brow lifts to get the best of all worlds and a more youthful appearance.
